Who:
The Parish Sacristan oversees the Sacristy of our church.

What:
He/She is responsible for the stewardship of all the sacred vessels, linens, and other altar dressings. They insure that supplies are maintained appropriately. The Sacristan is organized, faithful, and aware of Archdiocesan and parish guidelines for the appropriate use of sacred items. The Sacristan has the important role of coordinating the Mass Captain Ministry. The Mass Captain acts in a supporting capacity to the Pastor and Sacred Liturgy of the Mass. She/He insures that everything and everyone is in their proper place prior to and after the Holy Mass. This ministry requires an attention to detail, committment to and ability to arrive early and leave late from Holy Mass; an ability to interact with diplomacy and kindness with the other ministers within the Liturgy; and a gift for initiative, when needed.

When:
The Sacristan serves an ongoing role in support of the Pastor and the Liturgy.
