The Knights of Columbus is an international brotherhood of Catholic men, founded by Father Michael McGivney in.1881, dedicated to the support of widows through their insurance programs. Today, they are a charitable organization that helps support human service organizations and charities. In Catoosa,, Walker, and Dade counties and other causes throughout the Archdiocese of Atlanta, the Knights of Columbus of Saint Gerard Majella support multiple charities in the area with the proceeds from Fish Fries, Breakfasts, and other fund raising activities such as selling Christmas Cards. The Knights are always welcoming new members and invite all to apply for membership.
The profits from the breakfasts and fish fries are not kept by the Knights but go directly to the designated charity for each event.

About the Knights of Columbus
From the moment of our founding in 1882, charity has been the first principle of the Knights of Columbus. We are men of faith and men of action. “We are answering Pope Francis’ call to go to the peripheries,” Supreme Knight Carl Anderson said. “We can reach half way around the globe to help those in need, and we can reach to our neighbor next door. And we do that every day. That makes us witnesses to the faith.”
The history of the order shows how the foresight of Father Michael McGivney, whose cause for sainthood is being investigated by the Vatican. He brought about what has become the world’s foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society. The order has helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities.
